Here’s what a typical 10 pm - 6 am shift looks like:
I arrive at 10 pm and check in with a parent or other caregiver. I review any baby logs of the previous 24-48 hours.
When it’s time for the baby to eat, I will facilitate chestfeeding or other feeding support if requested or I will manage bottle feeding. I make sure that diapers are changed before or after feedings, as appropriate.
I gently and responsively help baby back to sleep between caring cycles. This pattern of feeding and sleeping typically continues every 2-3 hours for newborns until cleared by the primary pediatrician for longer stretches of sleep.
While baby is sleeping, I ensure the nursery is fully stocked and maintained, the laundry is washed and put away, used bottles and pump parts are washed and sanitized, formula or breastmilk bottles are prepared, and all care items are logged appropriately as requested.
One or both parents wake to relieve me and we recap the night. Alternatively, I may move baby into the primary bedroom and see myself out in the morning at 6 am.
Sleep Consulting
Customized support for your family to create sustainable systems and reach realistic sleep goals.
-
Because I support developmentally appropriate, responsive care for newborns, I only work with sleep consulting clients whose children are at least 6 months old.
If your child is younger than 6 months and you need help addressing sleep concerns, please contact me to discuss alternative options for support!
-
In alignment with my core belief that each child is a whole, unique human, I do not offer one-size-fits-all packages.
After an initial consultation, I will determine if we are a good match for each other and build two custom support package options for your family based on the specific issues you are facing and goals you have, as well as considering items like your immediate needs, support preferences, your budget, and my availability.
-
All Packages Include:
Holistic evaluation of the primary concerns and goals.
Education related to developmentally appropriate care, feeding, and sleep.
Gentle and developmentally appropriate sleep training and behavioral strategies.
Evaluation and/or creation of functional family systems.
Access to my library of resources and referral network.
Unlimited text and email support for the duration of the consultation contract.
A custom schedule of zoom meetings and phone calls to review progress, answer questions, and discuss strategies, etc.
In-Person support also includes optional full-scale respite care and training sessions to practice strategies, as my availability allows.
-
Here’s what a custom package might look like:
